Morehouse College announced today its “Free Application Month,” when application fees will be waived from October 3-31, 2022 for high school and transfer students who apply for residential fall 2023 enrollment. Students must apply on the Morehouse College website at morehouse.edu/admissions/apply. All students who apply to the College by the Nov. 1 Early Action deadline can expect to receive a decision by December 15th.
“The purpose of Free Application Week at Morehouse is to ensure every bright young man interested in joining the ultimate brotherhood has the opportunity to apply free of charge to continue their education, graduate, and ultimately pursue their careers,” said Descatur Potier, Executive Director of Admissions for Morehouse College. “As we advance our commitment to making the college application process more accessible, we are continuing to provide prospective students with merit and need based scholarships, dynamic tour options, and connections with our vast alumni network to share the personal perspectives and professional knowledge shaped by the Morehouse experience.”
This fall, Morehouse College welcomed 731 new traditional students to campus, 7% more new traditional students than in 2021 and the highest in the past six years. New students were admitted with an average GPA of 3.6 while total enrollment grew to 2,562 traditional and online students, making this the largest student body at Morehouse in over six years. According to nationwide rankings such as U.S. News & World Report “Best Colleges Rankings and Academic Influence, Morehouse College ranks as the No. 1 Small College in Georgia, No. 1 Liberal Arts College in Georgia, No. 1 Online HBCU, and the No. 28 Liberal Arts College nationwide. The core Morehouse curriculum was also rated an “A,” which placed the school in the top 2% in the country.
Students interested in touring the highly ranked, historically Black college can schedule an in- person visit through the College’s admissions office or they can participate in a 3D, fully interactive, personally guided, online tour option for those who may not be able to visit the campus in Atlanta. The virtual tour removes the potential financial or geographical inhibitors that could deter a prospective student’s journey to the College and allows them to have a tailored tour experience from the comfort of their own home.
