Meet A Mom: Rotasha Wade of Break N Bread Soul Food and Bakery | South Atlanta Moms

South Atlanta Moms 🩷 Mondays because we get to spotlight a mom, her story, her kids, her family – and share with you. This week we have a local mom who has so much to share and we are honored to tell a little bit of Rotasha Wade’s story today.  Rotasha is a #boymom of two, wife, local business owner, chef, and so much more.

Rotasha is an excellent resource and is very involved in the Henry County community.   She gives so much of herself to others, is full of wisdom, and is a joy to talk to. We literally can spend hours talking to Rotasha.

Welcome to South Atlanta Moms, Rotasha.

Let’s begin by taking a moment to introduce yourself.

My name is Rotasha Wade, I am originally from Milwaukee Wisconsin, and I have lived here in South Atlanta for 12 years now.

Tell us about your children.

I have two children, who are now adults they are 20 and 22 years of age.

When did you move to South Atlanta and what are your favorite family activities in South Atlanta?

I moved with my family to South Atlanta over 12 years ago and some of the things we enjoy the most are frequenting our favorite restaurants for family dinners, driving in rural areas and admiring the countryside, and entertaining guests who come to visit occasionally.

Tell us about your local business ventures.

I am the owner and operator of Break N Bread Soul Food and Bakery in McDonough Georgia where we serve a variety of soul food dishes and desserts. I also own and operate a decor and design business called Topped with Elegance where we decorate, and do linen rentals for events of all sizes and all kinds with fine linen from tablecloths to chair covers in exquisite designs.

What is your favorite part about what it is that you do?

The thing I love the most about all I do is the ability to serve people where they are. It doesn’t matter the age, race, or status they have in life. I love to see the spark in people’s eyes when they see that someone cares about them to share with them the very best that you have to give. That cannot be bought or sold!

What advice do you have for other women?

Don’t be so hard on yourself. If you believe you are a great mother, live in that. Don’t compare yourself to others’ ideas or lifestyles.  God created you uniquely with a special purpose in mind. Seek to fulfill that purpose in life and you will have contentment and peace of mind.

Best advice you’ve received from another mom?

It’s okay to treat yourself. You’re always looking after others’ wants and needs and it is easy to neglect your self-care. Treat yourself sometimes, and do it with no regrets.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I don’t like surprises.

What else do you do to take care of yourself?

I enjoy being pampered, of course, getting pedicures and facials and the occasional massage.

We love to support South Atlanta businesses. What are some of your favorites?

Favorite place to get coffee? Not really a coffee drinker, but I do support Drip-Thru Coffee by encouraging others to support her business.

Favorite place for a date night? The Historic Green Manor

Favorite place to have fun as a family? Dave and Busters

Favorite place to go shopping? Matt’s Warehouse

Favorite place for family dining? Break N Bread
