Here at South Atlanta Moms, we are on a mission to find and highlight not only the amazing women, moms, mother figures, etc.…in and around South Atlanta but we are expanding this article series and will feature one local dad each month. Allow us to introduce you to this month’s Meet A Dad, Andrew Vassell.
Hi Andrew, let’s begin by taking a moment to introduce yourself.
My name is Andrew Vassell. I was born in New York and raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia. I have lived in the Atlanta area for twenty years. I am a husband to my beautiful wife, Amber and the father of two amazing little boys, Avery and Austen. Avery is almost 3 years old and Austen is 7 months old.
How has fatherhood changed you?
Fatherhood has made me more driven than anything else I’ve ever experienced. I want my kids to have the best of the best and I want to show them the love of Jesus. It is important to me that they grow up watching their Daddy build a dynasty and understand what it means to work hard.
What do you love about living and raising a family in the Atlanta Metro Area?
What I love about living and raising a family in Atlanta is that it’s a melting pot. You can find all different ages, races and ethnicities in this area and we’re just far enough outside of the city that it’s usually fairly quiet and peaceful around here.
What inspires you? What are you passionate about?
Entrepreneurship inspires me. Since I first learned what entrepreneurship was in the 4th grade, I’ve always been fascinated with the idea of creating something of my own. I began my 1st entrepreneurial endeavor in 9th grade when I went around the neighborhood cutting grass.
I’m passionate about life, my family, and educating the youth.
Tell us about your business, Sweet Peas Play.
Like every story, ours has a “SWEET” beginning.
In October of 2018 my wife and Co-Founder of Sweet Peas Play, Amber Vassell, was 6 months pregnant. As she anticipated the arrival of our first child, she was faced with the sad reality that there weren’t many clean, safe and fun options suitable for babies and toddlers. She decided to fill that void by creating a mobile soft play company…and from that, Sweet Peas Play was born.
Sweet Peas was crafted with our “SWEET” customers in mind. Our highest standards of cleanliness and professionalism are unmatched. We truly are “Every Kids Dream & Every Parent’s Lifesaver!”
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I am a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. I hardly ever wear my letters so that may come as a surprise to some people.
Is there anything else that you would like to add about you personally?
I am a Man of God first which sets the foundation for everything else in my life. I want the light of Jesus to reflect through me each and every day that I get to walk on this earth.
